Boufal sends saint through quarter finals and adds to Moye’s misery

Struggling Sunderland manager David Moyes was sent to the stands as his side were knocked out of the EFL Cup in the fourth round by Southampton.Southampton's record £16m signing Sofiane Boufal scored with a stunning 25-yard strike into the top corner to secure a place in the quarter-finals for the hosts. Moyes was dismissed late on after referee Chris Kavanagh waved away Sunderland's appeals for a foul on Victor Anichebe in the penalty area.The Scot's two competitive wins in charge of the Premier League's bottom club came in the previous rounds of the League Cup. Southampton boss Claude Puel made nine changes to the side that drew with Manchester City on Sunday, including naming six academy graduates.
